javier,thanks for the info! it's very much appreciated and i hope you can help me out w/ some info. pertaining to the favela/fabela family orgin. during all of your research of the area and it's geneology, can you by chance tell me when and from where the favela/fabela line came?while in spain i happened to be looking at a map of the peninsula(iberian)and came across a town in southern portugal with the suffix de/do favela. that,along w/ the fact that the "afueras" or slums of rio de janeiro are refered to as "favelas",one might assume that the orgin be portugese. family history and that of other people w/ the same last name only speaks of a spanish link.research online states possible links to italy,but that is only in context to the root/latin word for "bean"? any help would be appreciated,thank you for your time-abraham fabela
