Mary, My ggf is Herman Faber who came to the US from Germany in 1854 and settled in Philadelphia, PA. He married Emma Uber and they had one daughter Cornelia Emma Faber b.1857 d. 1925. During the Civil War he served as artist on the Surgeon General's staff and illustrated the medical records of the war.He was allowed to draw Lincoln right after he died. He was also an illustrator of Grey's Anatomy and was noted for his etchings of animals. I have his picture. He died December 12,1913 in Philadelphia.
