Barb,

Is it possible your GGF John was born in Holland, and not in Luxemburg? My GGGF Anthony Faber immigrated from Groningen, NL in 1846, with two small children, one boy and one girl. The boy's name was John. Anthony was accompanied by a nurse, since my GGGM was ill, and died, either before immigrating, or soon after. The nurse subsequently became my GGGM, and the mother of my GGF. I have heard Anthony's son John had moved to Chicago, or to Illinois, when he became old enough to move away. Could this be your GGF? Or did he stay in Holland? I think Anthony's father's name was Joan. Could John have been named for his father, or his GF?

Write back when you get a chance. I would sure like to know about John. I also posted a message on Fabers from the Netherlands, Catharina. I am guessing Catharina is Anthony's sister. Interesting to note one of John's daughters was named Katherine. After his aunt, or sister?

Thanks,
James M. Faber
