Sorry James, your names are not familiar. The only other things I know about Herman is that he was commissioned to paint a very large painting of Bismark's dog (a large mastiff type) when he lived in Germany. Because of his position of medical illustrator during the civil war he was allowed to sketch Lincoln after he was assasinated and he made etchings from those sketches. I guess you would call it a death mask. I have pictures of him. He was a very strong character in our family. I will send you the coat of arms.
