I'm looking for information on my Great-Grandfather F.A. (Frederick Adam) Finster. The information that I know for sure is he came from Germany. Spelling of the last name variations are finister, finisterer. The first time that I can find him on any records is in 1850 in Polk County, Tennessee. So I only have records from that time forward. I'm trying to find out where in Germany that he came from. Family folklore says he was a doctor in Germany. When he came here he was a farmer and in 1850 owned a number of slaves. If anyone come be of help please email me.
