My Grandparents were Patrick and Julia Mahony Flanigan. I have a 1859 ship
record which says they came to New York It shows a Patrick Flanigan and a
Mary Flanigan. They are not listed together as husband and wife. They
could have been brother and sister. I also have an 1860 census from
Brooklyn showing a Mary Flanigan and a Julia Mahony of which both worked for
the same family. Julia’s age is the same age as my grandmother’s. I am
thinking this was how my grandparents met. I would like to know if anyone
has any history about this Mary Flanigan? Her ship record and the census
say she was 20. That depends on her birth date.
