There is a William Florey from Ohio that may have married a woman named Katherine, Katherine was my Great Great Great Grandmother. She had two boys that I know of named John Florey (My GGGrandfather) and Rufus Florey. Both died in IL. John in Clinton,IL. and Rufus in Texas Township,IL.
Does anyone of this ring a bell to anyone? There was a big secret in the Florey side of my family (my mother's side). It was said that my Great Great Grandfather John Florey was illegitimate. I came across the name William? on one of my cousins family maker world tree's. It said
"William ?" b. 1813 d. 1865" and of course Katherine who also went by Anna, they were listed as John's parents. This is driving me crazy.. I can't find one single document to say yay or nay. Was John illegitamate? Was Katherine ever married to a Florey or was she a Florey by birth?
Anyone with some tips on how to get through this wall or over it please, oh please contact me at irvinfamilyx4@verizon.net

Katherine has an obit in the Clinton Register in 1913, lists her two boys but now mention of a husband or being a widow. Even her death certificate has no husband's name or her own parents. Katherine is buried in a poppers plot in Woodlawn cemetary in Clinton IL. with no headstone or marker.
