FLOREY HOME
Location: 702 S. Lide in Mt. Pleasant; marker dedicated in 1982
History: This double galleried colonial revival residence was constructed in 1913-14 for William H. Florey. One of the developers of Mt. Pleasant's Dellwood Resort Hotel, he also had an interest in several area businesses, including a mercantile and a dairy. AFter Florey's death, his home continued to be occupied by his daughter Vivian Florey Fowler, a prominent local teacher for whom a Mt. Pleasant elementary school was named.
