A biography of Arlie Foor, lawyer, is included in "Montana, Its Story and Biography", Vol 3, page 873. (The biography states that the name Foor may be a corruption of Foos, and the remote ancestors probably came from Denmark.)

Arlie was born, 29 Jun 1892, son of Harvey and Rhea A.(Morehart) Foor. Harvey Foor was born in Ohio, was a farmer, died in Feb. 1901, age 35. Rhea was the daughter of William and Mary (Fellers) Morehart. She was of Danish ancestry, born in Greencastle, OH, where her parents located from Pennsylvania. Harvey and Rhea had five children: Arlie M. (MT); Clarence (OH); Raymond (OH); Forrest (OH); Ercell.

Arlie worked on the farm near Lithopolis until he was nineteen. In 1909, he graduated from Canal Winchester High School and for two years was principal of schools at Greencastle, OH. Sudied law at Valparaiso University in Indiana, graduating in Jun 1916. For about a year he practiced law at Winchester, IN. A friend, Hugh Marron, induced Arlie to come to Wolf Point, MT, where they were associated in general practice until their firm was dissolved when the members went into the army. In Mar 1918, Miles City, MT, Arlie enlisted and was stationed at Fort Keogh as an office man, then transferred to the navy as a musician and sent to Salt Lake, UT, and later Bremerton, WA, until Mar 1919 when he was put on the inactive list and allowed to resume his civil duties. He returned to Wolf Point, MT, where he was made secretary of the Commercial Club.

At the time the biography was written Arlie was not married. The 1930 Federal Census, Wolf Point, MT, shows a wife, Mildred, age 28, and son, Milton A., age 4-6/12. Arlie was county attorney at that time.

I am not related.
