Pat,
Also, I foud Martha E Tipton in the 1850 census. She is listed as having been born in Ohio, but is living in Soap Creek, Davis, Iowa in 1850. Her birth year would have been aroud 1839, since she is listed as 11 years old.
She is living with Joel Harbor age 41, his wife, Martha age 30 and their children, Newton age 8 and Lavina age 1. My guess is that Martha Harbor would have been a sister to her mother who probably died in childbirth.
