Obit in the Bismarck,ND newspaper of april 10,2002

Vera Gronberg, 92,Bismarck, died april 8,2002 in a local care center.Services will be held at 1:00pm thursday at Trinity Lutheran Church,Bismarck, with the Rev.Todd Hylden officiating.Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens,Bismarck.
Visitation will be from 7-9pm today at Eastgate Funeral Service, Bismarck, and one hour prior to services at the church.
Vera Margaret Fossum was born in Fargo,ND on Oct.15,1909, the daughter of Edward and emma Fossum. She graduated from Fargo high school in 1927, and obtained a kindergarten teaching degree in 1929 from Moorhead,MN state college.She married George W.Gronberg on Nov.2, 1929. The Gronbergs moved to Bismarck in 1936, where George continued a career in sales. Vera worked for several years for the Bismarck Tribune as a proofreader in the commercial department, and then as a secretary for Trinity Lutheran Church.Vera loved art and decorating, where she and George combined their talents both at home and in the community. She had many wonderful friends and neighbors.
She leaves one daughter and son-in-law, Marlowe and Donald Owen, Terre Haute,Ind.;two sons and daughters-in-law, Charles and Marlis Gronberg,Cambridge,Mn;and Gary and Fran Gronberg,Bismarck;eight grandchildren, Kjia(Chuck)Orsad,Kimberly(Michael)Mazur,Gwen(Todd)Daly,Ann(Brent)Nesheim,Eric(Randi)Owem,and Guy(Diana),Trent(Carolyn) and Greg(Lisa) Gronberg;18 great-grandchildren;one sister,Echo Clausen,Pennsylvannia; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George, in 1982;her parents;two brothers; and two sisters.
Memorials are preferred to Missouri Slope Lutheran Care Center of Trinity Lutheran Church.
