I do not know how Bertha traveled to the U. S. or where she entered the U. S. All I know is that according to her obituary, she immigrated about 1885, (possibly with a sister, according to the memory of my wife, Bertha's granddaughter). Her obituary stated that she had two brothers living in Norway in 1942. I have not yet had the time to try to track her immigration or her roots in Norway. Any guidance you could give would be very welcome. Maybe our Fossum families are related, although I understand that Fossum was a very common name in Norway, and maybe particularly in the Trondheim area. Thanks. John G.
