Just picked up your message, posted 2 yrs ago, so hope you get this.
Have you managed to find any info since your post? If not maybe I can help with census records. I have also found the marriage of your ggg grandparents James and Alice.
In my Stansfield tree I have James Stansfield marrying Rebecca Foulds in Colne 29 Jan 1742/3 (my 5x gt grandparents). Rebecca was born in Gt Marsden (now Nelson).
Perhaps there is a connection!! Will see what I can find.
If you would like the info please let me know. Probably better to use e-mail as there is quite a lot to send.
