I don't know if this is too late, but James Emory Foxx's parents were Samuel Dell Foxx and Mattie Smith of Sudlersville, Maryland. I found this info in the Dictionary of American Biography, Supplement 8. I too have been told that Jimmie is a relative and would love more information on him.
