In Jan. 1812 at Miami Co., OH, a James French is assigned as guardian for these 5 French children: James age 12, Rachel age 9, Johannah age 7, John age 5, and William age 3. A bond for $100 was paid by James French, Phillip Hull, and William Miller on 15 Jan 1812. In 1850 there is a James age 50 b.PA in Montgomery Co., John age 43 b.OH in Champaign Co., and William G. age 41 b.NY in Logan Co. - all 3 the right ages and the counties are adjacent to Miami Co. These are possibly the brothers but birth states are a little off. Does anyone have further information on this French family?
