Massive efforts have indeed been made over the years(about 100)but finding possible roots in the German state of Hesse-Cassel will take more than a lot of letter writing, wild speculating or surfing the net. I will take a lot of time by folks knowledgeable of the history and geography of early 18th century Germany (to find the right villages). The people doing the research will also have to have considerable skill in decifering and interpreting the old German script. I have in fact have searched quite a few records and will continue to do so as time permits.
