Mr. Turner,
Sorry to say that I don't have any info on any Turners just yet, but I will certainly keep it in mind while I am searching. Did James Turner of 1820 Census sell the land that I mentioned to Elijah Bowen? If so, did you find that in the Deed books? I haven't come across a direct descendant of Elijah Bowen, although I am looking. Do you have any info on daily life in Appling in 1820?

Were your Turner relatives "cut into Appling Co." from Tattnall? A distant relative of mine just wrote to tell me that he had read something in the Atlanta Sunday genealogy column that mentioned a new book published by Huxford and compiled by a Savina Murray that is a compilation of "Loose papers found in the Tattnall Co. Courthouse Attic." There is also another book reporting on Records of the Ohoopee Baptist Church Church in Washington County dating from 1792 to 1870.

Have you seen either of these books? Perhaps there are clues there for some lucky genealogist! I don't have access to the books myself. I posted a couple of messages yesterday to see if anyone can help with look-ups.
