I'm trying to find the parents of a Berry Smith, born in Ga in 1805. He is found on the 1840 and 1850 census for Jones Co Ms. Berry died after 1860 in Jones Co Ms.
While reasearching a Lewis Smith I was lead to Appling Co Ga and noticed the Berry and Eason surnames. Berry's first son was named Eason.
I have no link for Berry Smith to the Berry surname but since it was common for given names to be that of forebearers surnames and seeing the Berry surname and an Eason cemetery in Appling Co, I thought I'd give it a shot, there being so many coincidences.
Any information on Smith/Berry and Smith/Eason marriages will be appreciated.
