Information on Alonzo C. Powers

I am trying to find out information about the Rev. Alonzo C. Powers, a black preacher, who lived in Athens-Clarke County from about 1880 to the 1940's. Specifically, I am trying to find out if his mother was Harriet Powers and father was Armstead Powers, also of Clarke County. He was instrumental in getting the deed for New Grove Baptist Church. Thanks for any help you might give.
