James, was the son of John Bransford 11 and his first wife Sally Eastor. Of James, Colonel T.L. Bransford's record say: "He participated in the closing scenes of the American Revolution. I am unable to state what service he rendered, but think he was engaged in the defense of Virginia in 1781 and was probably at the surrender of Lord Cornwallis." James Bransford's grandson William Dean Bransford, writing from Chalybeate Springs, Georgia May 1, 1872. Celia Agee Bransford his wife was born in Virginia in 1776. They were married Dec. 9, 1784 and moved to Clark Co. Ga. in 1800, where he taught school several years and was Tax Collector in that County for 23 years in succession

I would very much appreciate inforamtion on the Bransford family, very much intrested in James Bransford or William Dean Bransford
