On the 1880 Census for Baker County there is an Ethridge family-John Ethridge, wife Mary, and Babe Ethridge, Male, age 4 months, listed as "other" instead of son. Next door is a McLendon family, Tom and Mollie, and children Charlie, age 2, and Babe, age, 3 mo., both also listed as "other".
On the other side next door is another Ethridge family, W.A. and wife Eliza, and children including a daughter named Babe.
This is very puzzling. Does anyone know anything about these families? I am researching McLendons, but am especially interested in the family of John and Mary and Babe Etheridge. Thanks. Beverly
