Robert White the son (born 1805) lived in Jackson County (in the portion that is now Barrow County) from about 1835 until his death in 1892. His old homeplace was located about 1/2 mile west of Hwy. 53 near Cedar Creek (house gone, old well is extant). He served in the Georgia assembly during the Civil War as a state senator. One of his daughters married Cicero Sanford Hill (son of William E. and Elizabeth Cockrell Hill) and another married a Bradberry. He was a member of Rockwell Universalist Church (NRHP listed, located at present intersection of Hwy. 53 and Rockwell Ch. Road north of Winder), and contributed to its construction. He also owned a grist mill located on Cedar Creek, known as "White's Mill" which stood until the early 1900's (I have an old photo of the mill). I have always heard he came to Jackson from Clarke County (perhaps having brothers over there). If memory serves, there is a John White buried in Oconee Hill Cemetery, of Irish descent who also owned/operated a mill in the Athens vicinity.
Hope this helps,
Patricia Stallings
