In the 1860 Census, William and Malinda et. al (including Alexander) were in Kingston. In the 1870 Census, they were in Adairsville (sana Alexander). In the 1880 Census, they were in Calhoun. John S. and Molly Reagan Cook, Edmund S Cook and his family, John and Elizageth, and the Berry family (Amanda) were all at a Pine Log address in the 1870 Census. I don't think they moved--they just got a new post office address.
If William R. was released in Chicago after his Civil War capture, he was probably sent to Camp Douglas prison in Chicago. There may be extant--even on-line prison rosters to confirm this.
