I am working on identifying and finding descendents of William Thames (b. 1813 Cumberland Co. NC) and Nancy Autry Thames. They were married in Cumberland Co., NC on 14 May 1832 and by 1835, they were in Georgia. In 1840, they are listed on the Macon County census and in 1850 & subsequent census records, they are living in Crawford County. William Thames died in Crawford County GA February 1877 and left a will naming his wife & three daughters. Two of these daughters were married, the third, Rebecca Ann Thames, never married.

The two daughters who were married were:
Sarah Jane Thames (b. 1834, marr. William Thomas Joyner/Joiner abt. 1858)
Mary E. Thames (marr. John G. Graydon in Crawford County 12 Sep 1860)

Wm. Thomas Joyner & Sarah Jane Thames had the following children:
William, John W., Mary L, Cattie O., and Charles O. Joyner according to the 1880 census.

John G. Graydon & Mary E. Thames had the following children:
A. (female, b. abt 1861), Minnie, Ellen, W. Elmore (male), Kitura (female), Charles E. and Emma according to the 1880 census. In 1901 in Berrien County GA, Lou Thames married John T. Grant. J. T. Grant was the administrator of the estate of John G. Graydon in Berrien County in 1905 (after the death of Mary. John actually died in 1901 according to Mary's CSA widow's pension filed in 1904).

Anyone with information regarding the descendents of these families is asked to contact me.

I would also be interested to know the relationship, if any, between Nancy Autry/Autrey who married William Thames and Dorothy "Dolly" Autry/Autrey who married Rev. David Thames, Cumberland Co., NC on 9 May 1826 and Mary Frances Autry/Autrey who married Robert Tolar in Cumberland County NC on 24 May 1826. Could these three be sisters?, cousins?

Thank you, Cheryl
