Hi Kristen, Thanks a million for your reply & subsequent e-mail. Yes, my g-g-grandfather, George Walters BLECKLY, was the one who was baptised at St. Mary the Virgin, Reading, Berkshire, on 28 Oct 1810 (b.13 July 1810). His younger brother, William Absalom (your ancestor) was baptised at St. Mary on 03 July 1814 (b.21 April 1814). They had an elder sister, Elizabeth, baptised at St. Mary on 27 Nov.1808. Their parents were George BLECKLY & Martha WALTERS, who were married at St. Mary on 16 June 1807. So we are distant cousins! I can't belive my luck to have found out what happened to William Absalom BLECKLY, 150+ years after he "went missing" from our Bleckly family. My mother was a Bleckly. My ancestor, George Walters BLECKLY, & his wife & family emigrated from Southampton, England, to Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, in 1858 on the ship "Parsee". Thanks too for your e-mail giving the details of my South Australian cousin Rob's website (www.bleckly.com). He gives some details of Logan E. BLECKLEY, who does not appear to be related to our BLECKLY family. We'll continue our exhange via e-mail, catching up on the missing 150 years of Bleckly family history. Yours truly, Donald Burke.
