I am researching Emma Nealy in the 1920 and 1930 Brooks County, Georgia Census. Emma is my great-grandmother, mother of Samuel H. Merritt. (I believe her maiden name is Parsons.) After her husband F.M. or Frank Merritt's death, she lived with her son Sam in Brooks County, Georgia around Morven. In the 1910 Census she is recorded as Emma Merritt. In 1920 and 1930, she is recorded as Emma Nealy, but there is no other Nealy in the household. I did find four other Nealy names in the 1920 census: Norman, Frank, Hattie and Henry. They are all brothers and sisters and live together. Can anyone share information on these siblings and any relationship they may have to Emma? I wonder if she remarried after 1910 but is again widowed by 1920? Alternatively, if anyone has information on Samuel or Frank (F.M. or Francis) Merritt or the Merritt family in general in Brooks County, it would be great to exchange information. Thanks.
