Hi, Mary,
Thanks for the information. The bride was Frances Jane Simmons and the groom was John B. McLeod. The story is that the two never married. However, she adamantly insisted that they did marry in March 1872 in Bryan Co., GA. I waould like to know for sure whether they did or did not marry. But, if the record was one of the records lost to the fire, I guess I'll never know for sure. Thanks and take care.
