I would like suggestions as to the proper plants to have outside the fence at the John and Catherine Lowther Mikell cemetery, between the fence and the curbing.
Since there is a Revolutionary Soldier and six Civil War Soldiers buried here, I thought Confederate Roses for the 4 corners, with gardenias at each side and at the rear, with Indian Hawthorne at the entrance. That would be something blooming most of the year and would be in keeping with the flowers of the period.
Can anyone give me any better suggestions or what to fill in between these plants with that would not require a lot of care as I live in Savannah and the cemetery is in Statesboro.
Thanks, Elizabeth M. Herrington
