I would like to correspond with descendants of Nathan Byars b. abt 1774 NC md Emelian/Emily/Milly Turner daughter of John Turner of Spartanburg Dist. SC. One of his daughters md Thomas Thomas in Spartahburg Dist. SC and they went to Butts Col. GA together. Who were his sons? His daughters have been listed but according to the 1830 Spartanburg Dist SC census he also had sons. One is believed to be Nathan Byars b ca 1795 NC living in Lawrence Co. AL. in 1850. Did this Nathan Byars fight in the War of 1812? In Nov. 1850 a Nathan Byars appeared before a JP in Lawrence Co. GA to apply for Bounty Land for fighting in the War of 1812 in TN. Was this the same Nathan Byars on the 1850 Butts Co. Census with daughter Mary living in his household? Was he the son of Nathan Byars and Drucilla Harrelson? Lots of questions, not many answers.
