The 1840 census of old Campbell County, Georgia, page 18, shows:
---nson Hamner (note spelling), aged 30 to 40, 2 males under 5, female 20-30.

The first letters of the first name are not visible on the census reel. Hamner's first name has been interpreted as both "Alanson" and "Manson."

No Hamners are mentioned in deeds or wills or other census records in old Campbell County. This particular Hamner was living in a part of old Campbell County which is now south Fulton County, Ga.
