Levi John Wooten Turner, b. 11 Aug 1835, was the eldest son and second child of Hiram and A.L. Caroline Turner. The name "Wooten" was thought to be the maiden name of Eleanor Leah Driskell's mother.
Regarding the 1840 census enumerations, neither Levi J.W. or his two younger brothers born before 1840 are included in the numeric profile of the Hiram Turner household. But it dosen't matter as he is recorded in the Hiram Turner family bible and is mentioned three or four times in Hiram's very detailed will as "my son Levi J.W." I do not know who has the bible now and no longer have copies of the bible record to share, but the will is in the public domain under control of the Probate Court Judge of Carroll County unless it has been moved to a repository for safekeeping in the past ten years or so. The will is in Will Book A:81 and Book A has been microfilmed for the Georgia Archives where it can be viewed and copied.
The Georgia Archives does provide minimal research by mail. See http://www.georgiaarchives.org/how_may_we_help_you/research_help/default.htm for details.
To set the record straight, Sophronia Turner was the natural daughter of an Elizabeth Turner and a man supposedly named Harper. There was no controversy, but the relationship, if any, between this Elizabeth and Larkin Turner remains a mystery.
