You are invited to participate in the writing and publication of the new Chattooga County Heritage Book (Georgia). At no charge, you may submit a typed 500 word article with one copied picture. No pictures will be returned. You are eligible to write this article if (1)you now live in Chattooga County, (2)you have ever been a resident there, or (3)if you have "family roots" there.
If your ancestor came to Chattooga County before 1860, you may write a pioneer article of 1000 words and submit 2 copies of pictures. Keep in mind that if your 500(regular) or 1000(pioneer)article exceeds that number of words, there will be a charge of 10 cents per extra word. You may wish to write about your family line, a special place in this county, or choose a specific ancestor as your subject. You may find it helpful to view samples of articles written for other books. Go to www.gaheritage.com and click on the link "Counties" for viewing these examples.
Your article should be completed and submitted by the fall of 2004! However, don't delay! Begin writing today and submit your article to me. I will make sure it gets to the correct source. If you will send an email to me, I will also tell you how it is possible for you to submit more than one article at no charge.
