Hi Melba,
I looked for information on your family but did not find anything at all.
The only reference to the name George in the index was to a slave named George that was owned by a Dr. C. E. Ballard. This slave named George was said to have been involved to and confessed to the murder of a white man by the name of Henry Jones. The info in the book says that another slave owned by Dr. Ballard by the name of Peter was also involved in the murder.
