My grandparents: John M. Johnson b. abt 1874 and Aberdine "Abbie" Higginbotham b.1870 were living either in the Folkston or Waycross, GA area and died in 1901 leaving two small children orphaned. We have been told they died within two weeks of each other from typhoid fever. Does anyone know anything about typhoid deaths during this time?
