Thanks for the reply.I don't have much on Silas Hilliard born about 1831 in Ga. A cousin thought he died in Blackshear, Pierce Co. GA, haven't find proof yet. Silas's parents were James B. Hilliard and Nancy Register,I found them on the 1850 Clinch Census with following children,Sophronia b.1833, Samuel b1834-1895,Martha b. 1835, John b.1838, James b. 1841, Nancy b.1843, Thomas b. 1846, Polly b. 1850.All birth years are estimated from the 1850 census. Next I found the Hilliards in Hamilton co., Fl,where Silas first married Martha Gill either 1851 or 1858.. The next place I found him was in the Putnam Co., Fl. census for 1860 and 1880. The online Charlton County, GA marriage records show a Silas Hilliard marrying America Ann Browning in May 17, 1887. Prehaps the Thomas Hilliard you mention could be his brother or an uncle.
Thanks,
Nancy
