I am looking for any (and I mean any) info on a man name Dessie Roberts. He is my grandmothers uncle, he was alot younger then my grandmothers father, and was more like her brother. He disappeared, according to my grandmother he got a ride with some other guys to a job building a bridge, and was never heard from again. She said he would hitch rides from job to job and would always call them to let them know where he was. She always said she thought he had been in the savannah area working on boats, and had been know to get into his share of trouble in the bars. I'm not sure of the year....but I would geuss around the late 40's early 50's.
Does anyone know how I can locate records? Maybe find out what happened to Dessie? Please help me get my grandmother closer to finding an answer.
