Hi All!
I'm searching for any information on who might be the parents of James Andrew Moore, born 17 OCT 1840. His Confederate pension records indicate he was born in Clarke County, but he first shows up, age 19, in the 1860 census for fannin County, living in the household of James Parks. Occupation is listed as "miller". After the war he married Sarah Matilda (Legg) Huckabee. (Huckabee is her married name, she was a widow). They had six children together; Henry Gaines, Thomas Reneau, John Avery, Oscar Perry, Alice Florence, and Callie Jane. Five of them ended up in Hazlehurst, Jeff Davis County. James Andrew Moore died 06 NOV 1913.
One of my guesses (And it's only that) for his father is Robert Hughes Moore, who later moved from Clarke County to Lumpkin County.
Anyone have any ideas??
