James Kinley was my GG grandfather. He was born in NC and moved to Franklin County GA before 1820. His wife's name was Margaret. (1840 & 1850 censuses for Franklin County GA). D.R. Kenerley's website "The First Kennerly Families in North Carolina" 1.7, indicates James may have been Samuel Kennerly's son, born in 1803 in Cabarrus County, and married to Margaret Smith in 1820. http://ken4af.googlepages.com/thefirstkennerlyfamiliesinnorthcarolina I have found two NC census records; Joshua Kinley 1810, but he had no male children under 10 years old, and Samuel Kinley in the 1820 census, but he had no male children at home, but does not necessarily conclude that James was not his son. However, none of James's children (or his son James b. 1829) was named Samuel. (Maybe he didn't like his father). If anyone has any information related to this, I would like to hear from you. I also have pretty reliable information on this line after James b. ~1800 which I am willing to share.. Notify Administrator about this message?
