Looking for information on the Merick Cemetary at the junction of Helmer rd. and Highway 85 just north of the Fayette county line the Cemetary with about 50 to 75 graves was there in the late 1940's and 1950's the Cemetary is about 200 to 300 ft off 85 highway on Helmer road on the north side of the road and i went there about 4 weeks ago and they are houses over the graves some of the people had Confederate grave markers and a lot of the markers dated back to the 1850's and some were just stones anyone with knowledge of where the people were moved to and also would like to have info on the Indian Graves on the east side of old Bethel Baptist Church on Flint river Road there is Houses on these graves now there were about 230 to 50 mounds of rocks covering the graves. It has got to be a disgrace how the County Officials Think more of collecting taxes on homes than protecting the the old cemeteries of the County if anyone has information email me fordone@alltel.net Jack Hill
