Thanks for the reply;When i was just about 6-9 years old the cemetary was there and my dad told me it had a lot of slaves and soldiers and the Merick family members that was about 1948-1950. i went to our old home place and asked what happened to the Cemetary and was told that TRI-CITIES realty company put houses on top of the cemetary about 25 years ago.There was names and a lot of markers. I then called a Man on the commission by the name of Charlie Griswell i think it was and he refered me to a guy in the zoning and planning by the name of Hoyt Swaney if my memory serves me right. They just would not help at all and in Georgia there is a law that says that if a Cemetary is abonded the County will maintain it ==Not desacrete it like this cemetary was done by tri-cities realty. hope the officials of this county will step up and do something about this.
