In an old family letter reference is made to the hanging of Lingo. Wesley Smith Hardman is telling his brother that he and some of the neighbors are selling out and moving to Texas, hopefully before Lingo is hanged October 21, 1859.
In the letter he mentions old John Akins has sold out and John Pitts is trying. It is believed that a Lingo was hanged in Powder Springs, Ga around this time. Does anyone know about this?
