I used to live in Powder Springs near the Macland Rd. area not related to your family but thought you might try the museum there in Powder Springs. I now live in Kennesaw near the battle field.
Seven Springs Museum has a rich history of the city (early maps, etc.). You can contact them:

This area has been heavily developed over the years and much of the farm land has been sold off and developed. In fact I bought a house in a subdivision that was once the 'McEachern' family farm land. Still, there are a few farms remaining. Let me know if I can help in any other way.
