I have an ancestor, Abraham Adkins, who was born in SC about 1768, and probably died in Cobb Co., GA after the 1850 Census. I know he was living in Cobb Co. in 1850, when he was 82. I find no further record of him, and presume he died before the 1860 Census. I don't know when or where his wife died, but he seems to have been a widower at this point.
Abraham's family did not, so far as I know, have deep roots or connections in Cobb Co. I believe they were there because his son-in-law, Lewis Hood, with whom he was living at the time, worked for the Railroad that ran between Atlanta and Chattanooga.
If there's anyone here who walks the cemeteries in Cobb Co., would you keep an eye out for him? He may not be there, but it's the closest lead I've got.
