Comment on 1870 Mortality Census-Coffee County

The Mortality Census can reveal many interesting details about what was going on in a county. For anyone searching for the family of Daniel Newbern age 48 and Winiford Newbern age 38 in 1870 from Coffee County-I believe nearly their whole family was wiped out by Meningitis in 1870. The mortality record has both parents, 3 sons and a daughter dying in February 1870. Comparing that to the regular census record for that family, there appears to be only children left in that household. There are several other deaths attributed to Meningitis in neighboring families.
