Looking for a male descendant of Lewis Anderson (B circa 1770 in NC) or Jacob Anderson (B circa 1806) to take a 37-marker DNA test. This family talks of being related to the Andersons of northeast Tattnall County, Georgia near Cedar Creek. Well, here is your chance to prove it. If we conduct the test through the Anderson Family DNA group, we can get a discount. The group of Andersons for which are of great interest are the ones who settled the Coffee County area as early as 1830-1831.
DNA has already proven that Peter Anderson (B 1799) and Charles Anderson (B 1813), both of whom lived in Tattnall County, GA, have the same DNA, and likely were brothers. Peter Anderson (B 1799) is thought to be the son Lewis Anderson (B circa 1770). With the absence of early records, DNA is needed to prove a family relationship.
Please let Andersons in Coffee County know about this need for DNA testing.
