William J. Smith and Elizabeth Dent Smith

I am looking for information on William J. and Elizabeth Smith listed in the 1850 Ware Co. census. It appears that William died soon after the census was taken and Elizabeth did not remarry. Listed with the children living with Elizabeth in the 1860 Ware Co. census is Warren Smith age 5. Is he one of William's children or did Elizabeth have him out of wedlock? My g grandfather was a Warren Smith from the same area and born around the same time frame, now Coffee Co., Ga. Any information on the death date for William J. and father of Warren Smith would be appreciated.
