I am seeking information on the parents of Tobitha Bagley. I believe her to be the daughter of Benjamin Bagley and Mary Caroline Hursey, though Folks Huxford lists her husband as John Boyles. Evidence as follows: I received a letter in 1973 from an elderly relative who knew William Bagley's wife in Jacksonville, Florida. In the 1930's, this Mrs. Bagley stated that she attended the wedding of Tobitha Bagley and Wiley Lord. Tobitha Lord joined Beulah Primitive Baptist Church, Graham GA, on Feb. 14, 1891 by letter. 1900 Coffee County Census, Tanner District: Wiley R. Lord, b. Apr 1871, 29 Bitha, wife, b. Oct 1871, 28 Mary L., dau, b. Aug 1892, 7 Martha F., dau, Sept 1894, 5 Benjamin, son, Oct 1896 Ollie B., dau, Oct 1898 The census states they have been married 9 years. Also living in Tanner District are Benjamin Bagley's sons, William W., John A., and Benjamin Thomas. The census was taken June 22, 1900. Tobitha died between June 22 and December 3, 1900, when Wiley Lord married Mary Lessie (Polly) Bryant. It was their daughter who sent me the letter in 1973. Any information that will prove Tobitha Bagley Lord was the daughter of Benjamin Bagley will be much appreciated. Thank you in advance for your help. Faye Notify Administrator about this message?
