Rosa Lee Gay is the 3rd child of Guilford John Henry Gay & Sephronie Curles(sp?) who lived in Colquitt County and had 10 children. Rosa Lee, born 12/1898, was enumerated at home with her parents in Jan of 1920. I believe it was later that year that she married the widower William Gay. Who is this William Gay? In the 1910 Census he is located in Bridge Creek district of Colquitt County with his wife Mary Ella, daughter Piercie, and his Mother Jane. In 1920 his Mother no longer lives with him. I ordered his Death Certificate (died 12/5/1957). It lists Mary Jane as his Mother, it lists NO FATHER! It lists his birthdate as July 3, 1882 in Colquitt County. I cannot find a William Gay in the 1900 Census who was born in 1882, or who lives with a Mary Gay, Jane Gay, or Mary Jane Gay. Who is this MAN!!!!!! Does anyone know or have any ideas as to where to go from here?
