GARVIN/TOMS/TOMBS/WILLIS/HUNTER

Looking for any information on the GARVIN, TOMS/TOMBS families who lived in Columbia County in the early 1800s. Jane Garvin married Edward Thomas Tombs in Columbia County in 1805. Have no information on her parentage or relatives. Jane Tombs married Thomas Willis in Columbia County in 1812. Need information on Thomas and Jane Willis and any children. Burnetty, Edward and Luzetta Tombs (ages 13, 11 and 15 in 1819) were listed as "free persons of color" on the 1819 Registrations in Columbia County. Need information as to their racial heritage – black, Indian, etc.? What happened to Luzetta Tombs? – no more records on her. Edward and Burnetta both married and lived for a time in Lincoln County. Burnetta married John Lockhart. Edward married Lucy Hunter. Any information on any member of this family will be greatly appreciated. Thanks. Mary
