According to a newspaper article I have it says that General Evans was buried May 24, 1877, according to Magnolia Cemetery records. He died of "dropsy of the chest" at age 76 years, 6 months and 24 days. The place of death was Cedar Grove in Columbia County. General Evans is buried in his family's section of Manolia Cemetery beneath a marker he erected for his first wife, who died July 10, 1860, at 52.
The house is now owned by the Church of Our Savior on Columbia Road in Columbia County.
I know nothing else about the family, only attended the church much of my life.
